From my point of view, they shouldn't as the pontil is where the rod was broken off.Only problem I could see is if the snapping off produced a crack in the base.
This picture is not civil war,the person in the picture was a native American.I have seen this picure before, but can't remeber where. It might be from the Sioux nation
Well after looking this bottle over ;I made a interesting discovery. In Zumwalts book ;she describes mine as being the the same as the R.F. Atmore, except it was missing the R. F. Atmore over the top of of the window and being embossed with Atmores on 2 sides.Well I can clearly see where...
I emailed the seller about trading for flasks,he said thanks, but no.He was selling this collection for a down payment on a house, looks like he got a fairly decent down payment.
# 12 is a really rare pickle, page 455 Zumwalts book, bottom left.It didn't get much of a bid till the last few minutes,I bid on it but dropped a $450.00,needless to say it went higher. But I was surprised this didn't garner at least $2000.00I have never seen one of these in auction.
You got to remeber Zumwalts book is now 32 years old, prices are not accurate anymore;also some bottles that were classified rare or extremely rare more have been dug.
