Hi Jim -
Sounds like a ...Welcome to the world of bottle websites. [:D] [:D] [:D] Everyone that has a site up, with a way to post their thoughts, get this sort of nonsense, from time to time. I know I do. I get tons of emails weekly and I'm guessing mostly 'cause I have websites, but a very...
Hi Dustin -
Your first shard pictured, if in great condition, only sells for $275 - $375 for as rare as they are. I watch them when they come up at auction, 'cause they would look nice with my bowling pin Pepsis. It's an Indian Rock Ginger Ale and should have A.G.W. (= American Glass Works from...
Hey Spencer -
I don't see a mention of 'ice blue' which is a common color for a lot of sodas. The Chero (I got) when I dug w/ Zane last is ice blue. I'll get you a pic when I get back from vacation.
Your 'teal' above looks very ice blue to me. White backgrounds are very important when...
George -
After going through both books, there only seems to be three states that used the slogan... SC, NC, VA.
The ones I came up with are:
South Carolina =
No. GREEN 2,3,4,8,9,11
No. SP3
No. BEN1
No. GREE4,5
No. NEWB6,7
North Carolina =
No. LAU1
Virginia =
No. WIN2...
Hi George and Welcome -
Thanks for the bump and sorry for the slow reply, but I've been on vacation (I try to help w/ Pepsi threads). It looks as though yours in listed in the second book as a no city listing. On page 94 it looks like this:
No. NC 18
Age: Teens Height:8 3/8"
Type...
I can't believe you said this!
Mr. Hungry (AKA Mr. No food, fluids, money or tools to dig with) had food going as soon as he hit his stoop folks.
You may have had a few believers Zane. Has Craig seen this?
Cindy - I agree w/ Lobey ...It looks like a repair in the mold itself. I've seen this w/ many demis and other blown bottles. This only adds to the beauty of each piece, I feel.
RE: sho
Hi Earl -
This is part of an Apothecary set. Look under 'medical' on eBay for more. It would probably have had a painted label or LUG (label under glass) at one time.
Genno - Here's one I dug just like yours. It's pretty sick and I noticed while taking pics of it, that it has a nasty crack now. It didn't have one when I placed it in my cabinet... hmmmm. I'm glad it wasn't an embossed blue, now.
The DOVE from Richmond, Va. is hard to get in this small size (w/ bird). This may be more of a med in a druggist form. The OP BENNETT & BEERS from RICHMOND, VA. is a super local. I found it under an early house and dug the Dove.
Lobey - Your post above (pg. 1) reminded me of another favorite...
Some more for ya of my favs...
I dug the VERY hard to get locals - milkglass and amber druggists (sorry if you've seen these before) ...but had to buy the blues 'cause we don't have any around here.
Okay Tony - I'll start it. [:)]
My favorite (I have a lot of favs... post more later)... this is a milkglass variation of a local. Any other milkglass druggists?
Hey Craig -
This bottle is German, varified by my wife, whom has been varified German. [:)] UNGARS OFNER is a name, company or person. It's listed in 'For Bitters Only' by C. Ring, but offers no information. I'll keep looking around for more info. (may take a while).
Hi Greg and Welcome -
Nice finds... Are you digging for these or are they just hanging out on the surface? Also, what general area of the world are you finding such treasure?
I'd be spending a lot of time at home. [:D] Keep 'em coming.
Hi Matt -
A lot depends on how much you paid for it. It's not worth it for inexpensive items. I bought an ink years ago and never got it. I checked into things w/ Paypal and it wasn't worth claiming. Something to think about...
