The other Ointment jar reminded me of one I dug recently, it came out with 1870s stuff and common or not, I like it. Information would be welcome though.
I picked up this bottle at a garage sale the other day, I know it's old, there are big jagged chunks of a blowpipe pontil in the kick-up but do any of you know of a way to gauge the age and origin of a bottle like this? Are there nuances in form I can learn?
I don't have many jars and they are usually broken when I dig them but I got this one yesterday and was wondering if it's at all special...
It is a quart and the lip is ground.
Heres a coffee essence bottle I have, I don't usually keep these kinds of bottles but this one caught my fancy. It's pretty crude and came out of the black slime under a 1880's dump in an old river bed.
Well I had a guest over here for a while, we went on quite a few digs, there aren't many bottles considering how much digging we did. Here's a photo he took of my lot though. There are a few stars in the bunch, I got quite a few local druggists and some pot-lids, there were high hopes for the...
Hello all, My friend gave me this bottle he dug in Thunder Bay Ont.
In a round slug plate it says:
NEW YORK
SODA & SELTZER
WATER M'F'G. CO.
MILWAUKEE,
WIS.
The bottle is slightly larger then the average hutchison, in good shape too, anyone here know about these?
My friend dug this bottle last year, there isn't too much info about it that I can find. It's loaded with seed bubbles, too bad it's got a chunk out of it! It says "Wm. Daly" "Sole Importer" "New York",
Hello there bottle people, I just dug this little dog and medicine today, I'm wondering what the dog would have been for/where it may be from. The bottle says "Knoxit Globules" and I think it was a cure for some kind of V.D.
Here's a poison I dug a while back on a 20s or 30s site, it has a screw top but I like the shape anyway so I kept it. I recently started wondering if it could be any good, it's the only one I have seen but that could be because I rarely dig 20s dumps.
