New member finding lots of neat older bottles

I loved the part where you said you heard some people actually "dig for them."

    PLC or LPC

I guess Limited could be possible. There were a few other English bottles in the same general area. I'd have to check with the boys about Hooker. Yes, We were there at the invite of NY Digger Steve. So were the Crick Diggers. Plus The Badger. And Andy. And a couple other guys who's names...

    PLC or LPC

I assume that this was PLCo or LPCo even though there is no "o". Any info would be great! We just dug in New York state.

    New Mystery item

What stick digger said. I'd go take a pic of one, but the shed is too far for this late at night.

A collection of items found at an abandoned house

What Raccoon and Flasks said. I am in the building salvage business and a lot of times I write that the contents of the buildings become my property when the contract is signed.. I'm pretty sure that a part of some cool old piece of antiquity just went missing on my latest job. Not cool.

    Need help identifying this bottle

I believe these come in OP also. And I do not believe them to be rare. In smooth base, I am going to guess in the $20 range since it is so clean. York Co. has a couple hard core guys that will spend $$$ if they don't have it or to keep someone else from getting it (not sure which!) and I have...

What's the deal, why all but worthless?!

A quick search on FeeBay completed auctions shows at least 100 or so of this era soda bottle selling for $100-500. I collected milks before they we cool (and some still turn their nose up at them). But for the most part, the newer bottles did not interest me. But like has been said by others...

    two bottles yesterday in pit

Either one would make a pit a good dig. And I am with you as to cleaning. There are very few bottles that I dig that I have ever cleaned besides a washing. Most of the bottles I buy for my collection are either attic bottles or have been cleaned, but it is the ones I have dug that sit in the...

    Crackle bottle...help

I have made insulators like this in the past. Basically heat and then rapid cool. Some times they crack in a couple parts, sometimes they crumble, and sometimes they stay together. I had rather crude non-scientific methods - put in Mom's oven and then submerge in a sink of ice water. I am...

    pa milk bottles

There have been various lists put together, although most of them are regional. They tend to be printed in small quantities, so if you see one for sale, grab it when you do. Right now, I do not know where to buy any, other then keep checking at your local bottle shows. Other ways to locate...
