Am interested in your opinion if this demi is American or European.
It was blown in a two part hinge mold ... most likely a side hinge mold ... the indentation is very shallow & looks like it was pushed up with a pontil rod ... mold seam ends at the neck ... applied lip ... it stands 20" ...
Here is another recent find ... the English J.T. Morton salt jar ... this is my second one ... a richer blue than the first ... the first one I sold on Ebay & it went for a song ... will hang on this example until I see a better appreciation for them.
My question ... is this salt jar...
I have been collecting & selling demis for over thirty years ... never have seen a 20th cent. two handle demi made in the same early bottle making practices as this one ... height 19" - circumference 46" - weight 20lbs.
glass thickness at the finish is half an inch.
