    Large Crystal found in dump.

I just found a crystal in an 1890's early 1900's dump today I remembered hearing others digging them on here. There's no way this crystal is natural did they believe them to possess some medical value back in the 1890's early 1900's?

    Dump digging dog!!!

I've stumbled upon a few bottle dumps while walking my dogs, one was a nice 1940's 50's dump, I must have found at least 10 ACL soda bottles on the surface within 15 minutes, bottles to the left and right. I started looking around as the dogs were by the river not to far away with a friend of...

    Small homestead trash pit.

cool finds I love the old homestead dumps, not as much variety as a big town dump, but it's good if you can research who lived there and who's dump it was.

    My first local Druggist

I love the local bottles most of them don't fetch a really high price but that don't matter to me. In the long run they must be quite rare since they weren't meant to be sold nationally so there be a lot less of the local embossed pharmacists than say Bromo seltzer or Pisos that were sold...

    Early Durkee Dug...

I just found one of these, I love this bottle! I find a lot of E.R. Durkee's with out the glove logo, those I just toss aside but I had to save this one. does anyone know if they make a smaller version with the glove? The connection to Don Quixote is cool for me, because I just got a...

    SARATOGA COLLECTORS

I didn't realise the show was May 12th last year. Luckily it's June 1st this year. otherwise, if it was still in early May, I might not have had enough money to go.

    Dr. King's Bottles

thanks for the info anyway I know what to look for, at least with Dr. Kings bottles, not that I think I'll be buying anymore of that bottle since I've dug a few aqua ones since than. It's still a pretty bottle, but not 60 dollars pretty, live and learn I guess.

    Dr. King's Bottles

All of the colored Dr Kings are reproductions? I have a cobalt one that says Dr Kings new discovery for coughs and colds. On the side it says MH malalka & Co. on the bottom in the Illinois diamond mark with no I in the middle. I bought it at the Saratoga bottle show the first time I went back...

    What is your worst bottle

I saved a lot of slicks when I first started digging. I remember I must have a sack full of slicks from my first dig at the TOC dump. My worst bottle would have to be a Curtice brothers preservers ketchup bottle, I hate digging those.

    shell glass cleanzit

it's odd there seems to be little to no market/demand of information about bottles with an applied colored label other that sodas and milks. I've only noticed said colored label bottles at antique stores flea markets and bottle shows. with a pharmacist bottle from time I've found some pretty...

    New England weather has broken

Just got back from my best dump for early 1900's bottle a little less frozen this time but I still couldn't get very deep dug a Carters master ink and a Warners. The biggest kick in the teeth was I'm pretty sure I felt a pottery jug under the earth it was still frozen in the ground and I...

    New England weather has broken

Heck Yeah! I'm so glad winters over I've been going mad from not digging, I've had the Goodwill and antique stores for finds, but it's just not the same as digging, I've been out to a few of my dumps, the ground is still mostly frozen. So far this year I've found a lot of interesting pottery...

Lake Dunmore Salisbury Vermont Glass Factory items.

I read about this place in the book American Glass by George and Helen McKearin I was wondering what kind of area it's located in, is it possible to look for slag glass and other such waste from the factory or is it posted/developed land? I was thinking of taking a trip there this summer to see...

    3 labels on one bottle

I've had this bottle with paper labels ever since I was young, I have no idea where it came from since I've had it since the 1980's, I don't think it was dug bottle since the 3 labels were together, I think it must have been bought at a tag sale or handed down from my Grandfather. The bottle...

    How'd that get down there?

An iron false teeth mold last summer, today I was picking around the same dump in another pit and found a bottom set of false teeth, there really small like for a child the mold was bigger than the set I found. A cogshell in a 1930's dump in VT. a cows tooth and other cow bones near a rusty...

what was your first question to this site

I joined April 4 2011 hard to believe it's only been over a year and how far my hobby has gotten me since that time I have found Native American artifacts and many other historical items. Back when I joined it was still a "casual" approach to bottle digging/searching now I go digging/searching...

    phoenix bottling wk dunkirk ny

while visiting my dad's and his girl-friends apartment I saw a bottle on the top shelf with a flower in it, I took it down to look at it, it was a Hutch bottle, about 7 inches aqua blue, that read Phoenix bottling wk Dunkirk NY. the slug plate embossing was a bit crooked. I saw on hutchbook.com...
