I just found this blue variant of F. Brown's Ess. Of Jamaica Ginger, or commonly "jake". This stuff was like rat poison for alcoholics. After they got in trouble for basically selling rubbing alcohol to people as a "drink", they faked out inspectors by "increasing the apparent volume of ginger...
Ok, so what am I doing with a Conn. bottle? Let's just say I'm a sucker for a purdy blob! I really like the wavy style of "New London" in the slugplate. I thought I had ingested something nefarious when I first encountered it, but no, thats how they made it. Thanks for looking.--Joe
I recently picked this up from the flea market for next to nothing, a shame there's no embossing but still an old and pretty bottle. Any ideas on what it may have held? Thanks for looking.---Joe
Hello All, Happy Holidays! So recently Penndot has been tearing the neighborhood up in preparation for major I-95 work. I found a stretch located near a once famous port, where about 3 feet or more of dirt was scrapped off. Lots of bits and pieces popping up, and I might have located a pit...
Last of the bunch this go around, a bottle of taller stature than its lot mates. A very nice monogram and color, but what I caught right away is what appears to be a B in "registered" instead of the D. It could be a distortion created by a dirty mold, but it really looks like an intentional B...
This one pairs well in design with the "IDEAL" mineral water that I got in the same lot. Another nice example of a later (but not too late!) NY sodey.
Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays!----Joe

My favorite part of this bottle is the address with "712 1/2". I purchased this in a lot of NY/NJ bottles, along with a Lehing mineral water of similar design. Thanks for looking, enjoy---Joe

This is a fun bottle, unique 8 panel ginger ale. Any NY collectors have any info on this one? Internet is spotty at best on this particular bottle. I was so jazzed when I saw this one in the NY/NJ lot that I got. Thanks for looking, enjoy!--Joe

This is a nice a one! Very psyched to add it to the shelf. The embossing is very fragile looking, almost as if the mold had been altered to changed the address at some point. Thanks for looking.--Joe

Let me start by saying, "I LOVE THIS BOTTLE!" Ok, whew. Better. Bowling pin bottles are cool enough let alone a real boss belt and buckle detail. Anyone NY collectors familiar with this one, (I have located a regular flat bottomed squat version with the same logo)? Thanks for looking any info...
Hello All, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Hope everyone got what they wanted. Just before Christmas, I purchased a pretty boss lot of Nj/Ny bottles. I have developed a solid connection for bottles from this area and time period, so more to come. I just finished cleaning...
This is the last bottle from a nj/ny bottle lot, all cleaned up. I could not find any information on this bottler, even Digger ODell (RIP) was stumped by this one. Any NY collectors know this name, or have any insight on this bottle? Much appreciated, thanks for looking. ---Joe

Yet another in a series of bottles that I recently got in a ny/nj lot. Really strong embossing, 1889 registration date. Apparently, this guy got himself in some heat back in the day. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F20B13FF3B5911738DDDAB0994DE405B8585F0D3

I was digging through boxes in a junk store basement, and found this 1967 edition of John C. Tibbets' "1200 Bottles Priced." It has some nice shots of his personal collection, and a bit of info on obscure stuff. The best part for me is daydreaming over 1967 prices! I'll take a Dyottville soda...
So here is another beauty from a ny/nj haul I just picked up. I know plenty about Mr. Vreeland etc., I would like to get an approx. date for this bottle, especially since I can't locate another with this type of top finish. It's a cool little bottle for sure. Thanks for any help, enjoy! --Joe
I got this from a fellow digger, cleaned up nice. Anyone recognize the DM monogram? A DM followed by what appears to be two "0"s or something, also appears on the bottom. A cool skinny hutch all around. Thanks for looking, enjoy!--Joe
This bottle was made for the Weisbrod and Hess Oriental Brewery, located on Amber St. in Kensington. The building was eventually occupied by YARDS Brewing Co., and eventually Philadelphia Brewing Co. who currently brew Kenzinger, Walt Wit, etc. A great piece of local beer history!--Joe
I know, common as dirt, etc. But this one is so deformed, I had to have it. Took some scrubbing but she looks good. A large indent on the front obscures most of "EXTRACT", and the top is real runny, sunny up style. I thought I'd post it here as it seemed alright to chat about slightly impaired...
Hello all, I recently purchased a lot of Ny and Nj bottles, (lots to post!) and this one was in with them. I'm assuming the J C is for Jersey City? If anyone has any info regarding the name or address in the slug, or could guesstimate an age, I'll be your best friend, assuming you don't live too...
I just picked this up from someone who bought a huge jar collection, got it at good price. Nice to have all the original parts, overall a pretty jar. Thanks for looking, enjoy!---Joe
