I think this is closer to a jar than a bottle but I'm clear on the difference. It stands 5 1/2" inches high and has a very cool tooled lip. The bottom is embossed C&S Co. and a number. Anybody know what was in this originally or anything about the company?
It's hard to find sand here near Scranton Pa. So I cleaned these two with some fine gravel from the driveway and dish soap. It worked pretty well. The Smuck & Co. had a lot of black inside.
Just got back from four days of buying and selling and beer drinking fun... Bought this from the lady set up next to us for a dollar. A small 2 1/4" inch Chinese medicine of some sort. I might have to go to the Chinese Porcelain Board for a translation. Any comments would be appreciated.
The only other cold painted glass item I found was a Civil War period canteen like bottle with an eagle stenciled on it. Could this be a store candy jar from the 1860's or 70's... The glass work is awesome... check that folded rim.
Hi everybody! I recently purchased a collection of old bottles. There were some English poisons and some others... I can post pics of later... This small bottle has residue of the original contents inside. It may be Polish. One other bottle has a label and the writing looks Polish or something...
