    Living the dream.

I think it was about 1974 a friend of mine drove his paneled van to Erie PA chasing a girl. Don't know if he hooked up with the girl but I do remember is the bottles. Said he went into an empty lot and hit a privy, got a bunch of aqua Erie blob sodas and a some broken plantations. Said there...

    What the heck!!

I almost put this in unexpected discoveries, you'll see why. Sooo I bought this wicker covered demi that was full of dried up crud like tar. Fast forward a couple years and I finally get around to trying to clean this thing. Tried gasoline, paint thinner and acetone to no avail. Then because...

    D. David's

Does anyone know this bottle? Trying to find out for a friend. Embossed D. Davids Tincture / For The Teeth and Gums.

    Got me thinking.

There was a recent post about a S. Fink ink recently and it got me thinking about the time we dug one. Started looking at some photos of the dig as it was a fun one. I don't dig now so I thought I would post some pics of an old dig. It was a wood liner a little over 5'depp and loaded. No...

    Somewhat recent dig.

I haven't been digging but number one son got in to one a few months ago and I finally got around to taking some pics of the finds. They dug a couple holes and got back to some 60's 70's stuff. The criers were two Locuour's broken in one hole and eight Rosenbaum's in another. Some other guys...

    Elk Spring Water

Picked this up at a moving sale and was wondering if anyone is interested as I do not collect this type of bottle. Clear and 13 1/2 inches tall it is embossed Elk Spring Water Co. Buffalo N.Y. It some interior stain and a small rough spot on the letter Y. There is what I will call a chip on...

    Hand painted inks

One of our founding club members passed away last Christmas and we are in the process of pricing and packing her collection to sell at our local show in March. I don't know about these hand painted inks and was wondering what they might be worth? I appreciate any help.

    Vehicle Registration.

A friend found this brass vehicle registration detecting an 1880's farm house and I think it is pretty cool. I could not turn up anything with my limited search skills and thought you search gurus might come up with something. I contacted one antique license plate website but have not heard...

    Send me home

I saw this Hutch in an antique store and found it interesting. I for one have never seen that on a bottle before.

    The umembossed ammonia

I have always liked these bottles, they are great window bottles and don't cost as much as the USA Hospital or SF gaslight bottles. I bought my first one at the Las Vegas show about 1982 or so. It is the one on the right and is dead mint and hammered with whittle. I paid a whopping $8 dollars...

    Estate bottle.

I was wondering if anyone might know if this is an American or Continental bottle. About 8 inches tall with an outward rolled lip, it is a real nice teal blue green color with what looks like a solid rod pontil? Also of course wondering what the value would be on this piece. Thanks.

    Estate Bottle Collection

One of our founding club members passed away recently. I was asked to appraise her collection for the estate. There are a few things I am not sure of and wonder what people here would think as far as value. Thanks.

    Bottle for forum support

I would like to auction this bottle and have the full amount go to forum support. I will pay the shipping, and will only sell, ship to the United States. No minimum bid, the auction starts now and will end Wed Jan. 2nd at noon PST. I will notify the winner with a PM and ship as soon as...

    Something different

I picked this up in an antique shop while traveling. 6 inches tall it is embossed Botica De Los Incas La Paz. Which of course translates to Inca Drugstore La Paz. A TOC bottle but pretty cool I thought. La Paz is the highest de facto capital city in the world, has the highest navigable lake...

    Maps for sale

I came into possession of Sanborn maps for Western PA and West Virgina. I had intended to use some of them but due to injury my expedition digging days are over, like to see them go to someone who can use them. They will be $1.00 per sheet and shipping charges. There are over 300 towns, to...

    Member passing

I was saddened to read on the Western Bitters News site that caldigr2 has passed away. I did not know Mike well but I do know that he was an avid digger and collector for many years. Certainly a loss to the bottle community. It was Mike who hung the carpetbagger moniker on me when reading a...

    Sanford & Park Wistars

Number one son came up with this a couple days ago. I know there are lots of Wistar's but I don't recall seeing this one before. Any rarity to this bottle?

    Rainy day post

Here's a couple display boards I put together quite some time ago. This stuff was collecting dust in a drawer, now they can collect dust on the wall plus I can enjoy them.

    Looking for any info

I have not been able find any info on this guy. Was wondering if any of you search gurus could come up with anything. Vorden is pretty much just a road intersection today.
