I found this today, while pulling weeds in my garden, I thought it was an old baby foods bottle, only smaller, but after cleanning the dirt out of it, I saw an inner lip. the bottom is marked sheaffer SKRIP, and on the side, it states, this side down to fill pocket.

I found a flat, clear round glass top. measuring, 2 1/2" Dia. with the words in raised letters, (to open insert knife at notch ( then an arrow >>--> ) pat.re.17562 )
I know it's a top, of something, but what?? any idea anyone?
amongst many old bottles that I have a-massed from my house, I also located a large copper coin, date 1787 on the back, with bust facing left on the front.. I will attempt to get some pictures of this soon.

on one side, and HARTFORD,CONN.U.S.A. on the other. Their web site does NOT show any glass bottles in their history, ( i have sent them an e-mail for info).. anyone have any Idea what era this might be from??
