Post a picture of the cans if you can, HemiHampton and I both collect them. They should have 2 triangle holes at the top. If they are older, they could have 1 large one.
Nothing compared to the stuff I usually see on here but some cool stuff I think. My favorite is the Greenville/Ionia bottling works. Looks early 20's. Most of the other stuff I found was late 20's to the late 30's. Also found some good beer cans from the era. I used a homemade bottle probe for...
Very nice finds Leon. How do you use a bottle probe? Do you stick it in the ground and listen for noise? Is it possible to use any steel rod temporally until I can get/make one? I could use one this week.
The big dump there would be fun to dig. I'm now very limited on where I can dig 'round here thanks to the DNR and the fact that most I've dumped out. Still lots of potential up north.
Leon, I found one of those England sauce bottles as well, found mine with some Pabst O/I's. Cool looking. Oh by the way, I was about an hour away from you today! [:D] We should hook up again. Weather I meet you or vice versa. P.S, there was a bad accident at that oldtown dump, car missed the...
That whiskey bottle is prohibition era. No "federal law forbids" on it. The house im digging at was a resort from the 1880's to the late 30's. There was a secret bar in the basement. Those are two later beer cans from the late 30's.
Went to my Grandmas house for one of the last digs I'll ever do there. Found some beautiful stuff. I've seen these type of bottles before but cant remember any info about them. Anyone know about it? Thanks.
Those are common on post prohibition bottles. Just found some whiskeys today, they are from the 20's and still have labels on them. Let that sink in.....
I think Muskegon was bought by Grand Rapids before the war, I've seen and had pre war bottles that were brewed in Muskegon by the Grand Rapids brewing company, if my memory is correct. Leon would know, he has 100s of labeled Michigan bottles :D
