A bottle I have in my collection (image below) is embossed:
HEALTH STRENGTH & ENERGY
BALDWIN'S
QUININE & STEEL ELIXIR
WALWORTH LONDON
What do you thing "STEEL" actually was? Can it really have been bits of steel....
Because I collect 19th century medicine bottles I get tempted to buy home remedy books from the same period ;)
I just purchased Cox's Companion To The Family Medicine Chest and what is interesting is that it has 6 pages of labels to cut out at the back. I have never seen that before.
Second Texas Take-Out[/align] A sign advertising where Texas quack goat-gland specialist Dr. John R. Brinkley's perscriptions are filled. 1939

Have you seen this Irish bottle before or something similar? Can you help identify and date it?
It is green glass embossed with an image of St. Patrick bordered by shamrocks. It was found in the foundations of an old farm house in Ireland.
A non-member emailed me a slide show of their collection with a question about values.
Can you see a rare or valuable bottle here?
You can view the slide show here (put aside about 10 mins to see it all!)
I am thinking about doing a Press Release on the forum's up coming 4th anniversary to get our hobby out to a wider audience.
I am looking for what Members consider to be the 'classic' threads over the last 4 years. These could be classic for all sorts of reasons like amazing finds, best...
A non-Member has emailed me a picture of a bottle that has been in their family for a very long time. I thought it was interesting enough to post it here. What do you soda collectors make of it?
If you missed Antique-Bottles.Net this weekend I am sorry. Our hosting service Terrasite has been moving all their equipment to a new data center which meant an interruption in service.
Everything should be working OK now though!

I got an email from Phil Maher about his new site of USA Historic Sites of Interest he just made.
It's still in the early stages but if you have any constructive feedback on it put it in this thread and I will make sure he gets it....
