Is this an onion bottle? What can you tell me about it...

As far as dating the bottle, I am just not sure. The glass looks 20th century, but the base wear looks significantly older. I would rather call it "Globular" than an onion bottle. It is the applied lip that is confusing. It is nicely flared for a purpose, maybe a master ink, or even an...

Dr Ulmer's Liver Corrector Savannah, GA

I don't blame you. It is not a bottle to get rich on, but the very rare bottles always increase in value over time.

    Any Good?

I would much rather look at that Bitter's bottle than Andrew Jackson's face. So I say yes, indeed.

Dr Ulmer's Liver Corrector Savannah, GA

Gotta be rare, at least, I found nothing but the dose glass. It's not for sale per chance?

    Eagle flask with Chicken legs?

Do you think it was a 1/2 pint or pint?

What's your favorite bottle from pre 1900 look like ?

Stunning display. Do you have a green Rochester one?

    Eagle flask with Chicken legs?

That certainly looks like a Pittsburgh area glasshouse double eagle shard to me. Not a GII-106 like my two but close. I'll hunt around a little tonight. Were the other flasks smooth based (as well) ?

Tuthill & Baldwin NY Iron Pontil Porter

Why I don't like E bay (For Selling): Vintage? It was vintage 100 years ago. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/291920265425?rmvSB=true

    Stoddard Bottle

Kinda like this one : Ron

    Stoddard Bottle

If you could, a few good pics of the base would be great. Try to show base wear around the circumference if present and of course the indentation, which is likely an iron pontil scar.

    Stoddard Bottle

BTW, If you are only thinking about selling it, don't. The very rare bottles stand to increase in value as well as any investment. Give the extremely rare bottle 20 years or so and you can start adding zero's.

    Umbrella ink

Thx for the pic with the dirt. Great little gem. It almost gets me excited enough to dig again. But, never have I found a great bottle digging. (Unless you count digging through old boxes in an attic as digging lol). I guess a cobalt radical cure bottle is my best dig find, and I actually...

    Stoddard Bottle

I'm reasonably sure that bottle would bring $1000+ at Hecklers now. I've done a bit of business with Norm Sr. Jr. and of course Greg. Just go the website and go to "contact us," attach a picture and your name and you will soon receive an auction estimate. The advantage here is some big...

    New Texas Medicine

Very cool, I too like those "frontier" area local bottles. That said, not as much as some other bottles so I am selling one from my collection. "Poison / The Sun / (Winged Mortar) / Drug Co. / Poison" Bottle, "1/2 / CLG Co / Pat. Appld For"...

    Todays dig!

Is the one to the right of the amber whiskey base embossed?

    Stoddard Bottle

Nice INK there. Here is an advertisement (1851) http://www.hecklerauction.com/auctions/101/pdfs/122.pdf And here is a 2012 auction (Norman Heckler Auctions) listing with the selling price to boot. http://www.hecklerauction.com/auctions/101/view/?lot=122 I'd say that it would fetch closer to...

    Dr Townsends Sarsaparilla

Gorgeous. It sure has that "Lockport Green" look to it. Nice "orange peel" look to it also. I'd say that without any damage, it would at least do as well as the eBay sale Andy referenced, I think maybe better as it has a very cool crude look.

Is there a name for this type of pontil/mark?

    nice bottle btw

    Help with bottle identification

    Yup, nice one there.

    Please help.

I'd say it was made in Europe, second half of the nineteenth century, and was an early import to the Americas. The glaze and handle shape appear more Scandinavian than German or French. If I had to guess, Norway or Sweden, leaning toward Sweden.
