I found this Pottery Bottle on Vancouver Island years back. The locals say it is an 1850's bottle.....The embossing : Bavaria Brewery Victoria V I and on the reverse the "thumb print" Doutton Lambeth London. The bottle is quart size and mint.
Found (13) of these sweet Cal Eagles. I 'd post a picture of the graphite pontil, but you can see it through the side of the bottle. This bottle was never cleaned and is as found condition.
It's the nature of the beast ~ most sealed wines are thin & consequently broken. I've found several wine seals....seals only. Seals and the base of the bottle are the thickest parts of the bottle and survive. This lovely wine was found with all of it's crudity and a great seal. The date is...
I found both of these bottles in an ancient Western dump site, nothing but 50's & 60's glass. It is absolutely amazing how much Eastern Glass came West.
I found this Chinese sauce bottle at an old dump site a couple of years ago.... The bottle was laying next to a cathedral pickle ~ non pontiled. If Provenance means a little something then this is a 1870's bottle. Hey experts out there......anyone know this bottle. The Chinese were in...
Always loved the Phoenix Bourbon.......especially the applied top. I have found bunches of J.F. Cutters & J H Cutters ~ It was time for a change. Only one bottle that day, but the quest for a Phoenix rose from the ashes. Here's the applied top.....and a tool top I purchased much later. I'm not...
Over my digging & diving career I was lucky enough to find these three 1860's London Jockey Club Gins.....Always a treat. The yellow one is the best that I have ever seen. It has a glass thread that wraps around the interior of the bottle. All are in mint condition.
Thought I'd post a little eye candy.....I found these two bottles when I was 13 1/2 years old digging in a mud bank at an old town site.....They kinda got the ball rolling. Years later, many years later & many bottles.....what a grand hobby. You gotta love it!
