Cistern digging
I’ve dug several in Brooklyn and Ling Island New York. Had some great finds in the 1860-1890 era botttes. Dug one that was so dry and filled with ash that many of the paper and painted labels survived!!!!

Holy Moly! I think that was my bottle from years back. Looks identical to one I dug in the mud flats on Jamaica Bay. I remember the sliver chip on the lip! Sold it in a lot with about 100 other mud flat bottles about 10 years ago!
Just got this bottle. Anyone ever hear of this one?? Is it a milk??? It is embossed " D.S. Hubbard & Son Bayshore L.I." Bottom embossed "Pat Sept 17th 1889"
