Federal law forbids mark isn't used on all alcohol, just certain years. It's most likely after 1920 because the seam goes to the top.

Hi all, here is a nice local bottle for me that is not seen too often. Appears to be a graphite pontil that the maker ground down to make it less conspicuous. I'm thinking 1860s to 1870s, but would like input on the date range.

Has anyone seen one of these? Picked it up at an antique store but had no info. Tooled top looks black unless you hold it to the light. Any thoughts? I'm thinking something you didn't want to drink.

Wow, I just bought a bottle like that a couple of weeks ago. 12 sided, small aqua pontil...do you think they are the same? Of course it adds to the coolness factor if it is a poison.
