Texan here, passing thru Marietta, I just pulled in and will be here thru Thursday. I'm staying downtown and I brought all my digging implements. I've seen some unreal YouTube videos and I would love to scratch around here in Marietta.
I have been cooking professionally for 20 years. I believe I am looking at an antique egg separater. Imagine the coil was "stretched" out a little, an egg was cracked into it and that utensil would separate it. I'm going with that, also could be a whisk.
I dug this one in a TOC dump. Caught my eye because it wasn't a screw top. Never seen one with this type of closure. Maybe an off brand ketchup? Anybody seen a top like this on a ketchup?
Found it!! It is a B&B Carbolated gauze jar. It is used as an antiseptic wound treatment. Johnson and Johnson seems to be the main producer of sterile surgical gauze. Apparently B&B was a lesser known company that produced the same thing! Thx for the input, it really got me thinking outside...
I cant find anything on b&b baked beans. There is B&M baked beans tho. There is an ebay listing for this bottle, the description of it tells nothing of the age, maker or contents. I have contacted the seller to see if they have any info on the bottle. I have searched for british and/or...
Found this bottle earlier this year. Looks like a snuff bottle. Little bit larger than a snuff. B&b on the bottom. Any ideas what this could be? Anybody found anything similar?
You are certainly a wealth of knowledge, thank you for all that you have done!! The link in extensive and an amazing source of info! Happy New Year. Might be a week or so until I can put my hands on the physical bottle. I'll take detailed pics and DM you.
They do look very, very similiar. The horizontal scatches... I dont have the bottle in my possession, and I only have a couple pics of it. Horizontal scratches on the crown and the middle of the bottle. Possibly from factory rollers when they refilled it? Very pronounced on the main body of...
Mold seams on both sides of the bottle and they appear to terminate about 1/2 inch from the lip. I'm attaching a pic of the 75 I think I see. I think it's a stretch on my part tho.
Wow, thank you. I really didn't think too much about this bottle before this. I did not even notice the embossing until I cleaned it. Unfortunately the bottle is not with me now so I am unable to look closely for other marks or embossing. In the original pic of this post of the base, it...
Thanks! The "registered" embossing is in same spot on both bottles, same color, close to the same shape and size. And same mark on the bottom. I'm trying to figure this "registered" bottle out!! Thanks for everyones help, I have some good leads.
