tumbling small bottles
It mostly depends on the size of the tubing yu are using. I would think that a 2 1/2 inch lexan tube would work just fine with your bottles, also use finely cut copper wire or shot for the cleaning medium. I have used a 3 inch tube, but it is a little big. cool pics even small. that was some dig I bet. I wish yu could have gotten the bottles yu were hoping to find. I have found over the years digging is a LOTTA HARD WORK for not a lot of payback. except when yu are really lucky and get a good hole. about one in thirty it seems- andy volkerts

Yeah, Bricks!! I have found so many busted broken bottles by bricks in the same hole that I hate bricks!! But they are kinda cool though, especially the ones with factory names on em. Could be Whitney glassworks, and it could be just about any glassworks, as shoe polish was a common product and all the glasshouses made polish bottles at one time or another. No, I bought out a collector from Ohio a couple years ago, and the Spivey cure was with the bitters bottles that I bought from him. It was a pleasant surprise, as I happen to collect cures as well as bitters and S.F. meds and California sodas- andy volkerts

I agree, but was just saying that nature isn't helping either. we all need to do a much better job disposing of our trash, in our area the trash company offers a free pickup day of your choosing each year, and will pick up everything but oil, which you can take to them any time. about 1890-1914 I know that is a span of years, but it is impossible to pin it down closer, unless it turns purple, which it might, then it is after 1910 and up til the end of WW-1 or a few yrs after.- andy volkerts

Your welcome, Your bottles basic making ingrediants are soda ash, silica sand, salt, cullet (broken pieces of old glass) lime, and sometimes a bit of arsenic in each batch. from (whitney glass works formulae entry) old line glasshouse and now out of business. mostly the cullet was of the same...- andy volkerts
