    Thanks for the tips, I am going to get a large graphite pencil and give it a shot. Do different papers work better? Vellum paper vs a sheet of typical printer be paper?

    I've got a brown bottle, that I'm pretty sure dates to 1945, if that's the date code on the right of the maker's mark. The problem I'm having is with the maker's mark, itself.
