I found this this bottle and thought it was pretty cool. I thought I would share and see if anybody know anything about it. I know it is Italian buy can't find a lot about it.
I honestly have no idea. I thought it was on the outside after your picture but I washed it and cleaned it and it still looks like this. So I took a picture of it with something else.
I was wondering if this was considered a jade insulator? I know sometimes colors can be tricky to nail down and was looking at this one and wondered about it.
So I guess I am new to the Mountain Dew club. I saw this yesterday it an antique store and thought I would pick them up. First I loved what they looked like and second the bottles said they had to come home with me with their $2.50 price tag. Figured they would go good with the insulators. These...
I found this guy the other day. I am trying figure out what it is made out of. It is bot porcelain or glass. So I was hoping somebody has seen it before and might have some info. It is like a plastic or composite type material.
I picked up this bottle yesterday for the #1 reason of it being a neat piece in my eyes and #2 it its a Coke bottle. I only have like 3-5 bottles and when it comes to glass my collection is insulators and really nothing else. I gotta couple questions though. I did a little bit of searching and...
I buy most of my insulators at antique stores or garage sales. So I was at this antique store yesterday and came across a shelf of insulators. This CD 162 was sitting there for the taking at $15. I could not believe I finally found another color CD 162. I was pretty excited and had to share! It...
So my dad sent me a picture of an insulator he got and I have been searching and searching o try to figure out what it is but I keep getting stumped so I thought I would try here to see if anybody knew. Here are some pictures.

Continue to feed the obsession!
For Father's Day my wife and kids added to the ever growing collection.
I was pretty shocked but my wife assured me that she got some amazing deals on these.
I was out searching for some insulators the other day and was able to score my 1st Maydwell. The Maydwell 20 cd164. I love finding ones I don't have and then researching them.
Recently I got a few new insulators to share. My parents got me a green on the left from Spain, my wife got me a purple California and a root beer Diamond and I found a white Germany. All of them are pretty cool if you ask me.
I know you said it was on a wooden peg but I had a couple that were rusted to a metal peg and then it was bolted on the wooden cross arm. I sprayed WD40 down into the holes where the threads were and let it sit for almost a week. Then I sprayed some more down into the insulator and was able to...
Man that is an awesome collection! Thank you for sharing! You have a lot of great ones and a lot that I only dream of adding to my collection!
Also thank you for sharing your knowledge with me and whoever else has read this post it has all been very helpful!
That is some great material to read. I have skimmed some of it but will have to sit down tomorrow and read more of it. Thank you for posting that information. My dad and I collect insulators together and we learn something new everyday and we have been at it for a while. He works at an electric...
Thank you for correcting my cd133 to the cd160. I appreciate it. I gotta make sure I rewrite it in my book.
It is funny how those marketing things work isn't it with the drip points.
The 2 that I posted is a swan neck example.
This is am example of a prismic 2. The prismic writing was from 1895-1901.
The insulator I shared is a transition style from 1893-1895.
The following is more common and non prismic it is called large stamped old style from 1902-1919
Then this is...
