    New Curio Display

So I went and bought the curio I posted about. I put some of my Florida SS Cokes on top, Congress Saratoga Springs and some blues and clear medicines in middle shelf. Then some brown bitters and ale bottles on one of the bottom shelves. My wife wanted a couple shelves for her Fenton Uranium...

    Curio Cabinet Display Question

I'm thinking about buying this Pulaski curio cabinet to display some of my bottles in. It has glass shelves and from what I can gather online they will hold 25lbs. I'm just a little worried about overloading and having it collapse? I guess it would take a bunch of bottles to be over 25lbs. Do...

Brother gave me a few of his bottle

My brother is moving and downsizing. He gave me a few bottles he no longer wanted. Nothing rare or valuable but some cool ones I thought I'd share. The first is a Dundee Marmalade. I see online people love this jar though this one is more modern. It does still have a neat stoneware look to it...

Tumbled 1904 Jax., Fl. SS Coke and List of Fl. SS Cokes Im Looking to Collect

I recently got this 1904 Jacksonville Coke and it spent a few days in tumbler. Looks pretty good except for some scratches around neck. I've been collecting local sodas the last couple of years but I think my new goal is going to try and find SS Cokes from every bottler in Florida. Right now ive...

Who is Company that made A.B.C. Co. Bottles

I just got this one out of tumbler. It was in rough shape. Still didn't clean the bottom very well. Was wondering who A.B.C. Co. was? Google keeps pulling up Anheiser and American Bottling. Thanks

Tumbled Superior Dairies Local Bottle Age? Worth?

This is one of the milk bottles I got from my uncle. My mom wanted this one so i cleaned it for her. It's a local Superior Dairies St. Augustine, Florida bottle. Tumbled it for one day and turned out pretty well. I was thinking that it was probably made in the 30s or 40s? It has a 43 embossed...

    First Two Tumbling Results

I started with this Pat. D Coke I found in a creek. Lots of scratches and small pits all over it. 3 days in 1200 grit and 2 days in polish. It looks good but didn't quite get all the pitting in glass. Guess I should have ran two more days in the 1200? The Jacksonville soda bottle looks awesome...

Uncle Gave Me A Couple of Boxes of His Dads Bottles

There were about 30 bottles total. Several milks, several 1920s-30s Ball and Atlas Jars, an old Lea and Perrins. Most I won't keep but here are a few i may put on a shelf. The first two are olive green and I assume are ale bottles. They're almost identical. No seam and raised bottom. Second is...

    Newbie on Jar Doctor Tumbler

So after about 3 months I finally got my Jar Doctor tumbler. I know he's been busy but was starting to get a little worried. I asked Wayne at that time how easy it was to put together and he said he had NASA engineers buy them and people who couldn't chew gum and walk at the same time and both...

Looking for Wesley Plott Antique Bottles Book

I found an article about Wesley Plott while searching online. It's a very interesting read about his adventures digging for bottles in the Jacksonville area. The article mentions a book he wrote and I would like to read it but it is no longer being published so I can't find one for sale. I was...

More Local Sodas. Early Chero, HoneyBoy and Hi-Roller

Awhile back I posted about my ugly, nuked Cheves Cola and said I was going to try and find another that was clear. Haven't had much luck with that but did find a Chero-cola that was bottled at same place. The Cheves Brothers Ice Factory and Chero-cola bottling Works in Newberry Florida. It has...

Replacing neck on SS Coke Bottles

I've got about a dozen of these straight side cokes that I would like to try and repair. Not to sell but just put on a shelf. I've got a few questions. Has anyone tried this? After I cut with tile saw can i tumble before applying new neck? Or will it crack?Which is best to use regular epoxy or...

    Poisons for Christmas

My brother found these two poisons over 20 years ago at a construction site. He didn't and doesn't collect but knew these were old and saved them for all these years. He gave them to me for Christmas. The McCormick is awesome. Bee Poison bottle. Pat date 1902. Three sided. Very cool bottle...

    Nu-Grape Bottle Question

I picked up this bottle today to add to my Palatka Florida soda collection. When I think of early 6oz. Nu-Grape bottles they are usually an hour glass shape with script writing. Has anyone seen one like this? The art-deco look with basic block lettering? I'm assuming 20's-30's? No pat date. It...

Lots of embossing on this one

I picked up this Shortell & Timmons bottle today. Its the Im a grown man size flask. Lol. I was told it was from the 1890s. When I searched online I found a few that also said 1890s but one said 1915? Then I searched for the business and i see they were open from 1906-1916? At least in this one...

Creek Finds, Purchase from Local Digger, Estate Sale Bottle and a Gift Milk

I usually just buy local soda bottles but it's been slim pickens here. I made it back out to a creek I've been to several times. I've found Pat D Cokes, flasks and milk glass in the past. But I always find at least one broken straight side coca cola. Found two more. I have about a dozen now...

Cheves Cola - Chero Cola Question

Confederate Railroad has a song called "Trashy Women". One verse goes " I like my women on the trashy side When they wear their clothes to tight and their hair is dyed, too much lipstick and too much rouge,, gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused. Yep this is my trashy woman. I like it...
