Hello antique bottle members. Is it possible anyone could identify this old bottle? The bottom is stamped 1, 3, 4 and 8, spread out a bit. It obviously came with a screw top lid but I happened to have some corks that fit nicely so I'll display as-is! Was hoping to find out what it's original...
Oh man. Yea, I think we get so used to bottles usually being very durable we didn't think about how fragile or brittle these antiques have become! Point taken here for sure!
Wow! Thank you but im in trouble already. I've washed and cleaned about 40 bottles already with tap water, dish soap and windex and yellow and green scratchy pads!I'm not sure that any of these are really old by some have threads for cap and some dont, so I've ordered some corks on ebay!!
Thank you Len. So far my weapons of choice are toothbrush, wire brush, pieces of cloth, and a special tool made from a wire coathanger; I split the wire so that one part is a poker/scratcher/scraper/cleaner and the other prong I made into a hook that acts as a poker/towel pusher in and outer/...
