    Is This A Fake/Altered Insulator?

Usually that deep shade of purple is the result of treating century-old clear glass with UV rays to speed up the colour-changing process that occurs naturally when glass containing manganese is exposed to sunlight. In the case of insulators though, I suspect that shade of purple will happen...

    Is This A Fake/Altered Insulator?

I’ve got a W.F.G Co. Insulator here, and while talking to a guy about it, he said from the pictures I had sent it didn’t look right. He said that it’s coloration of the glass looked off. I’m, as many you may of guessed, very worried that I may of bought a altered/fake piece. **Note: The...

Question about a defect on an HG&CO beehive.

Hello insulator collectors of the Antique-Bottles Forums, my friend and I have a question regarding some HG&CO beehive’s. What is this insulator I found?

Certainly a Wilkerson piece, post 1989. They made lots of these miniature insulators as novelty items. Thank you for the info!

    Possible display option?

Some beginner and more advanced insulator collectors would probably enjoy having a cool sleek way to display their insulators! This idea may actually produce some profit, if the price is right that is…But, this is definitely a nice way to display insulators!

    Possible display option?

That’s honestly a really cool display option! I actually think it’s a great way to display some of your “fancy” insulators!

What is this insulator I found?

I was at an antique show a few days ago, and found a small Mickey Mouse style insulator, but it was oddly very small. It was extremely tiny and a really nice shade of blue. It also happened to be cheap so I picked it up. I looked for it all over the internet and was able to find nothing. What I...
