Back from my little hiatus!
Yesterday while digging in the 1920s dump, I came across this spectacular find!
A CIRCA 1860 “For Pikes Peak” historical flask!
The bottle has some minor damage on the lip and a bits on the base but it faces up exceptionally well!
No Ceredo variety.
It was sitting...
I went digging again at this dump for the last time until August.
And it was bittersweet but the ground gave up some of my best finds yet.
Highlights include a nice Gin-Gera from Greensboro in remarkable shape
And by far one of my best complete sodas and by far the rarest straight side...
Went out and dig for like 6ish hours today and found some miscellaneous bottles, but these two were the real stars of the show!
I can’t pronounce the name of this chemical but it’s from Wilmington NC so it’s pretty cool.
And then this.
A purple toned Ten-Pin! Ginger Ale made by the Adam...
Was a hard day of digging. The rain makes all the clay super heavy and very prone to collapse. But I managed a few finds. Best one was probably this Saymen’s
Did also manage to find some glass lids and a wine neck (they are never whole here) and a piece of some sort of Bennington crockery
Also...
I hit the dump on Friday again and did some more digging. I’ve probably only excavated about 50sqft of land total and I’m well over 120 bottles found. Finds of the day included my first (mostly) intact jug. Bottom is still there, but handle and some lip is gone. Looks broke long ago. No...
I think this was a pretty good Easter Hunt! Found another Burlington Drug Co. bottle that’s in great shape with strong embossing.
Found a 1900s (?) Price-Booker Mfg. Co embossed pickle jar from Houston Texas.
This one cleaned up really nice and it’s HUGE.
These are all I’ve cleaned up so far...
I went back to the standard dump today and in about 6 hours of work, I came up with close to 60 bottles!
Mostly meds, but some real keepers include:
A very well used Warners Safe Cure
A completely unknown local pharmacy. I was really blown away by this. I had no idea this pharmacy and...
Digging finds from yesterday.
These Burlington Straight side Pepsis are becoming pretty common. I’m averaging 1-2 per dig. Not really sure what this Dr. Jaynes stuff is?
I totally forgot to post some other good finds from Sundays dig.
1920 Pat D’ 1920 (1923) Orange Crush from Greensboro, NC
1920s Burlington NC Pepsi Cola
And a nice large size Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin
Yesterday I went back to the dump after a vacation. Needless to say I was sure happy to have endured the cold temperatures to dig this Rumford Chemical Works bottle! The color on this is crazy! Gotta be one of my favorite bottles I have found!
Looks applied top and 3-piece mold maybe...
Can anyone tell me if the Raleigh or Greensboro Bottle clubs still meet? I tried reaching out to the clubs president with no success? Something tells me they are defunct? But if anyone on here is a member and knows, please share
Last year, I dug these bottles in Adams County, PA on a farm dump with a buddy. I think he might be on this forum (?). I really enjoy how photogenic these bottles are. Dug all three sizes. I wonder if other sizes were produced than three I dug. Of course, I don’t really dig this new stuff as...
So I recently dug up this SS coke from Burlington NC. This has got to be the most odd looking shaped SS coke. No pictures of one on the internet.
If anyone has the coke book, can you tell me if this exists in the book? Also a value for a complete one (in an honest estimate?)
I was surprised to...
How many of you ever dug a slug plate Pepsi? I was incredibly surprised by this. Sadly tis broken
I have more great finds from this weekend but I think this deserves its own posting
Hi guys,
So as the curious young person I am, I want to learn more about what this great hobby was like during the prime age of bottle hunting. Im hoping some of the more senior folks on here can provide some insight into how bottle hunting and digging was like in the 1960s/70s/80s. Good finds...
So I found this bottle about two weeks ago and am I’m not sure exactly what this cobalt square Sal-Fruitol bottle is? Internet searches come up empty so I’m wondering if you guys might know what it is.
Cheers

Hey guys so I have been pulling some bottles out of a local dump and after about 24-72 hours of just sitting on the floor of my room, I have started to notice some bottles beginning to flash crack and flea bite. These are not sitting in sun light and are just on the ground of a room that only...
Feast your eyes on something I've been dying to find!
A straight side Pepsi-Cola in aqua. It's probably fairly common(?) town Burlington NC, but I still really like it. Minus some flash cracks, it's complete!
Hey guys,
I recently saw a YT video of someone using muriatic acid to clean their bottles?
Does this actually work?
Is it safe and practical?
Cost efficiency?
How does it compare to things like Vinegar or CLR?
I just want to hear experiences or other did bits.
Cheers

I tried a different area today and I must say I was not disappointed by the finds :)
I really like the aqua utility bottle. Its machine made and looks rather early.
Any ideas on what Sal-Fruitol was? Age on this bottle? Regardless its a pretty cobalt
The Staty and Stamp bottle is like new with...
