Wilshire Blvd. The bottle has a round embossed emblem with the word BURR, a picture of a bear and the words Los Angeles.

I received these two bottles for Christmas, and I would like to know their approximate age and any history that might be out there. The Hawaiian bottle has some very severe cracks and the ammonia bottle has a tear down the label.

I have a brown bottle with those words embossed on the bottom.
I believe it has a " blob top" , but not quite as large.

I have always wondered what exactly causes the patina on a bottle. Does this only happen to bottles that have been buried, or does the glass react over time to the air?
If only when buried, what chemicals are reacting with the glass, and what is the chemical make-up of the patina?
