    larger than usual

I was happy to win this tin top milk with full closure. Usually these older milks go for a little more than 13 dollars.

    ties my smallest embossed bottle

This has a ground lip. About 1 1/4 inch high. Western blown.

    Unexpected Delivery...

I won this bottle on ebay. Fairly common tooled crown, but this example has very little wear on the lower embossing. Usually this area of embossing shows the results of heavy case wear. So I figured an upgrade for a reasonable price. However check out the tracking info. This was a post office...

    Brass Fruit Crate Stencils

I collect local metal items. Cast iron, brass, et cetera. Noticed a seller on ebay had two original fruit crate stencils from S.F. After emailing the seller I managed to get both for a reasonable deal.

Boericke & Runyon New York and San Francisco variant

There are numerous Boericke & Runyon variants. Most are embossed Boericke & Runyon/Company or Boericke & Runyon/San Francisco/Branch Portland, Ore (many times the E in "Ore" is missing from the embossing). Here is a variant I have only seen once before. It was an example that our fellow forum...

    pharmacy/druggist size runs

I happen to collect local pharmacy/druggist bottles. If I see different sizes of the same bottle I will usually pick them up -- if they are affordable. I kind of like winning a bottle still in need of cleaning. No, not tumbling but just soaking and brushing out. Here is one I managed to win very...

    what are the chances...?

In addition to old Local bottles I also collect advertising memorabilia. Low end of course, none of the super expensive stuff the advanced collectors go for. I found an odd wall mounted receptable from the Nathan-Dohrmann department store in San Francisco on ebay. And by absolute wild chance the...

never knew these were so valuable

I had one just like this, nearly the same size. And I got rid of it. Put it in the recycling bin. My bad... http://www.ebay.com/itm/301843539337

    San Francisco advertising hanger

I used to buy local advertising hangers many years ago. I'd find them at garage sales, yard sales, estate sales. I stopped going to sales years ago when everything seemed to dry up. All the good stuff gets put on ebay. And so I found this incredible advertising hanger on ebay. Won for minimum...

    new SF dandy flask

I didn't think I would win this one. A very nice example with tons of seed bubbles. The flask includes the (for once) not-corroded screw top to the flask.

Imperial Ginger Ale and Soda Water Co.

These are one of my favorite "full face embossing" tooled crowns. Made at the PCGW in San Francisco. I find a new example maybe every 6-8 months on average.

    Santa Rosa bottle show

Found an unlisted San Francisco pharmacy bottle yesterday morning at the Santa Rosa bottle show. Also acquired three other SF pharmacy/druggist bottles.

    San Francisco Oven Co.

I got this pair of oven fronts years ago when the internet was a new thing. There wasn't nearly as much information online back then. So after much internet searching I found nothing. I came across these pics and got the "brilliant" idea to do a current search. I came up with a hit from the...

    pharmacy collection go-with

I got this paperweight recently. Very near mint condition, circa 1910. Shumate's was originally a single pharmacy in San Francisco. They soon began adding branch stores throughout SF. The paperweight lists only 4 locations, but Shumate's was soon up to 7 branches and eventually had over twenty...

    sample size Camelline

Came across this one offered by thebottlevault. Two inch bottle with a very thick base. Blown at the PCGW. Was a popular face cream produced by Wakelee in San Francisco for many years. First bottled in Cobalt/blue glass, then amber near the TOC.

    new ebay acquisition

This was won for minimum bid, very reasonable I believe. Got it from one of the advanced collectors up in the Northern Bay Area. I've got a couple hundred local druggists but have never seen one of these before. Vintage 1890s - TOC.
