I have a CT Harvey bottle in the same shape from Norwich. They were relatives I believe.
Plan and simple, cleaner bottles sell better. As Matt pointed out with all the rust and dirt there could be dings / large scratches that detract from the bottle.

Most likely says Buchan / Portobello. A lot of the stoneware are debossed with that company. I know a few companies made similar bottles here in the US but all I have ever dug were the Buchan type. Great dig though. And looks like a great spot. Good luck and keep digging.
