found a early 1800's flintlock while diving recently..
what's best method to conserve it? electrolysis? and how would i go about it?
it's currently soaking in fresh water..and is slightly covered in encrustations..
tried to post pic but was too large.
thanks in advance...
went to my fav spot today....turned up some nice bottle plus other bits.
2 patent bottles, 1 pf herring, 1 1820 cylinder, 1 1780 porter, small carter's ink, knike spoon and and shackle
the codd/torpedo hybrid's are pretty rare....
if ya want one...let me know...i normally put them for consignment for about $80-90
the small ones are even rarer!!
well...there are a few shops here that sell...you might find a sleeper or two since they tend to deal in bermuda bottles ...american ones tend to be overlooked...there's also a few ppl who sell/trade here..
2 weeks ago... another blacking bottle, clay ink, few more codds, elleman embrocation with stopper, which is common nice bowl with british foiled anchour.
well...this month's not been great..been too busy with housework to do much diving..
the first pic is of today's dives..2 nice blacking bottles, 3 torpedoes, 6 codd bottles, 1 free blown/pontiled wine, 1 nice clay wine, and a sounding weight.
