Lynch & Clarke New York. Mt Vernon Glass Works.

I guess I better jump in on this. I wrote about NE Glassworks making L& Clarkes in the Spouter Newsletter. It came from a personal communication to me from a young guy who is a direct descendant of Oscar Granger. He wrote a masters thesis on Mt Pleasant and found an invoice from NE...

    Adirondack Spring Water

I am very familiar with this bottle. It appears from the photo to be a pint, it is worth about $300 mint. The quart from whitehall is the $1000+ bottle, the quart from westport is about $5-600. I would hammer on that dump as saratogas are usually found in multiples. Mtn Man

    is this an insulator?

Yes it is a lightning rod insulator , I used to collect them. It appears to be a light sapphire blue-it is a good one as color is king with these items. Contact www.open-wire.com for more info. I figure several hundred$.

    Rust stains on crown-top bottles

awesome bottle, or cash? what say you

For me it would hinge on if I liked the bottle. If I did not then it would go down the road with the $ funding something that I did like. The trick is to keep bottle $ seperate from living expense $. That way the collection remains unviolated from the events of living. I just dug a broken...

How Good Are You At ID'ing Shards?

Hi Again, I have a huge collection of organized shards from Mt Pleasant and am happy to discuss or id what you have found. Most of the site has been dug but there is still some areas that need checking. A site visit is possible as I am in the Mohawk Valley. They did make amber, aqua, lime...

How Good Are You At ID'ing Shards?

Hi Swizzle, This is a Boulle' (not sure of spelling) that is the remnants of the gather of glass on the pontil rod that the bottle is blown from. The red staining is iron oxide that comes off the tongs used to manipulate the glass. The glass at Mt pleasant cooled off very quickly as it was...
