Duffy's Malt must be about the most common bottle listed on Ebay. Why is it so popular and (I guess) keeps selling? Usually listed @ 2.00 to 9.99. Just curious.
Can anyone identify a broken bottle base found on an ocean beach marked as follows: Circular, about 2 1/2"" diam., clear color, Embossed 3-10 in upper portion, then H-258, then K A A on lower portion. Are there any sites that list manufacturers marks?
I understand how bottles become colored amethyst, but have a few questions:
-How long does it take (with full exposure) for a bottle to turn amethyst (months/years)?
-Can this be done through a window pane , bottles placed in window?

Am ignorant re: Stoddard glass. What is distinctive in the bottles -- have seen mention of "Dot" in center of base. Brief explanation would be fine. Thanks
Have renewed my interest in bottles (after 40 years) and have noticed a lot of interest in Udolpho Wolfe bottles. Could someone give me just a few words of history on this Co.? Also, are there reproductions of these Wolfe bottles to be aware of? Thanks very much. Graydigger
What type of mold would have been used for typical case bottle: square, heavy taper from shoulder to base, finely embossed striations on side panels, and apparent mold line on shoulder to base of applied top. Thanks
Does anybody recognize that name? Had a quart round lt. amber embossed Kellogg and Ford Yakima, Wa. My son has it now, so can't get picture. Don't run across that name. Thanks
