    Jubmo ?

At a flea market type outdoor antique market in KY this past Sunday I noticed a "rare" misspelled Jumbo peanut butter jar. On the bottom of the jar was spelled "Jubmo". The dealer had around $90 on the thing (but would have taken less) and I wondered if it was worth it. Any idea? She is...

    Interesting story in Cincinnati paper

Monday's Enquirer had a two page spread on privy digging that featured Eddie Brater and Mike Kalcheck, two active local diggers. They contacted me last year to ask permission to try to locate a privy on my property. That's why I first started digging my backyard dump (and still want to find my...

Merry Christmas - Have a beer (bottle)

Festivity befitting the season. More of my duplicates for the forum. Three crown tops in great shape with minor bumps and bruises. As Rhona can attest, these bottles clean up nicely. No major issues that I can see. They are a C. Moerlein, a BruckMann, and a Hudepohl (in a pear tree)

    C. Moerlein Blobs

There are a few pretty good beers on the donation auction section of this site. Don't make me clean those bottles . . . Please bid generously. - Jim

    Christian Moerlein Blob Top

I surmise that, like me, there are several people that simply enjoy reading the posts and admiring the finds. We don't post much; some of us dumped (literally) a flurry of posts then disappeared. We enjoy the site nontheless. To show some support I have three bottles. I don't care if the...

    Return to the backyard

Because of weather and work I haven't dug much. I decided to do some backfill today but still managed to find a few - mostly repeats of previous finds. If I had a nickle for every Castoria, Sannitol, and honey bottle . . . .

    8.17.07 back yard

Spent most of the morning filling in where I had dug. Didn't find much new stuff other than an unembossed 8-sided bottle (sauce?) and a John Wyeth that I can't seem to find any info about.

    8/10 backyard finds

No historical flasks here, but a pretty consistantly productive yard.

    Short dig - hutch

Too hot yesterday, managed only 1 hour in the back yard. Dug 3 repeats and this hutch: Embossed: J.A. Krusling & Huesmann Cincinnati with a flag that is embossed Union Trade Mark. This bottle . . . on the back

    Too small for a soda

Took the day off today, too hot to dig (save it, Rick) so I'm pondering a few of my finds. What was this used for?

July 27th in the Back Yard

First, I looked for the rest of the busted milk - no luck, although these were near the top of the ever-growing pile.

    More Back Yard Finds

Back at it last evening. As I was leaving the hole I took a tumble and lost a pretty good milk. Lesson learned. I'm getting to the point where I need a ladder. Here's a sample of my most recent finds.

    Back yard - slim pickens

Not much found this evening. Started with everything in pieces but finally dug some common crown top beers. Christian Moerlein:

Tuesday evening in my back yard

A great way to spend a couple of hours.

Sunday afternoon in my back yard

I dug just over 40 intact bottles - was really bummed about finding a busted up bitters and the jug that I posted in the "Cleaning and Repairing" section. All in all a good day. I put together a few of today's finds for a group portrait - Jim
