    cistern digging

I did some looking around at the cistern I was talking about. I see where the opening is. It has a courtyard over half of it. I noticed a crack around the courtyard brick. The crack looked deep in the ground and there is standing water down in it. Could that be part of the cistern? If so...

    cistern digging

I have dug a few privies, but am still pretty new at digging. A family member owns an Antebellum home built in 1833. To my knowledge, the cistern has never been dug. It's been filled in for a long time. Are there any special rules to digging the cistern? I figure it's worth digging.

    VICKSBURG MISSISSIPPI

Thanks, I like all of them, but my wife makes me act conservative, so I will stick with the ones I don't have. Carobran says the Kosciusko is gone. Is the Walton Bros from Newton, Meridian Steam bottling Co. Meridian, and B.B.& W. Bottling Works Hattiesburg available.

    new digging spot

Yes. There was a town there from about the 1830's up until around 1900. The town was abandoned. Fire got most of the records. I know the location of the town. I have not been able to fully explore like I would like, but it has been hunting season here. The building were mainly wood...

    new digging spot

I have located a possible location for digging. It's in a heavily wooded area. I have dug a privy here and there in town, but never in a spot where I only have a general idea and no specific landmarks to guide me. I know the area to look, but it has been untouched for probably 100 + years. I...
