Hi Everyone,

I had some great luck digging over the christmas holiday and got into some nice pontiled stuff. Including a soda embossed W. R. EVANS / PHILADA it is a teal green color 3 piece mold porter the embossing is around the shoulder. I have seen this bottle before with an Iron pontil but mine has a tubular open pontil. I wanted to know whats every one think this would be worth. I have been told by a major philly soda collector that it is a one of a kind varation. I don' t collect Philly Sodas so i don' t know what to ask for this one when i sell it. The links below to see pics of the soda

Chris,
I' m sure by now you have found out more about the Evans. The tubular pontil does make it a bit different, but the base treatments were just a thing that happened that particular day with that particular apprentice. It may have a bit more value to a collector, but really is not that much more than the iron pontiled version. It is still a tough one to get. Good find!
