Can anyone find info on this jug? Pretty good condition just a pot stone blow out.
I have found 3 Lynn: Ma Oh & PA but I am leaning towards MA.
Anyone else with ideas?

I think Edward Sr probably dies before 1919. I haven't found his wife Marie, or son Edward, Jr anywhere!! Maybe they all died in the ifluenza pandemic???

Edward Heffernan (or Jr) was pretty well known for his French Remedy...
FRENCH REMEDY FOR COLDS THROAT & LUNG TROUBLES REGISTERED EDWARD HEFFERNAN LYNN MASSACHUSETTS
He sold in Lynn and later Boston.
I saw a jug similar to yours today. It was marked EDWARD HEFFERMAN
70 to 78 Monroe ... Lynn, Mass. Probably about 2 gallon.
Anyone have an idea what a jug like this might sell for?
The one I have is about that size. There is a pot stone blow out but all the glaze is present and you can feel the stone inside the jug. Unsure on value.
What color is the stamping?
Is it this type regarding color and shape?
I bought mine for $50 but I think if I relisted it I could bring alot more. The pics were terrible and it wasnt described well either.
Any jug with stamping starts at $20 and up. If yours is the older version and it has blue stamping i would think $75 and up. I hve found that once a bottle or jug hits over $100 the bids can go crazy. I will be listing mine soon if you want to watch. It could be a gauge for ya.$80 - $140 is fair if its a good piece.

The jug is more that tan color but with a less shiny glaze. The lip is similar to your Heffernan jug. The stamp is not colored , it is a deep , dark thin line stamp.
I thought it was interesting because I havent seen many Lynn jugs before and I knew the family was in the patent medicine business. I would be interested to see what yours sells for.
I think you are right about on the mark, if I had to give a number I'd say $100. The potstone blowout is less of an issue on stoneware that it is on glass, although it still has an effect. Nice jug though, and it will be interesting to see where it goes when you list it.
PS: I just scored tickets to antiques roadshow this August in Hartford, and the embarassing thing is that my wife and I are having a hard time coming up with things to bring! I'd feel foolish bringing bottles because this forum is a way better appraiser that anyone else would be, so we've got to come up with some other things. We each get to bring two things, how cool is that
