Hi, I found this small bottle in Warren, New Hampshire in a cellar hole. The bottle measures 2 1/2" X 1 1/4" square. The base of the bottle has a pushed up circle and the #220, two rope like braids run around the shoulder and form loop like handles...I also recovered in that spot a eagle cornucopia flask and paper thin free blown medicines to name a few.... this one escapes me! Anyone have a clue to what it is, who made it etc.??? Thnx again, Jim

Purfume bottle I'd say for sure, small bottles of that type often had purfume, essense's, food dye etc. in them but with that basket weave pattern on it (that I've never seen BTW) I'd think it a purfume.

I'd say some type of perfume bottle, also.
I've dug these type of bottles before and thought they may have been attributed to the Boston Sandwich Glassworks.
Who knows.
They may have been blown in Keene, NH.
Hard to say where it was made.

I always thought that not being able to produce clear or light colored glass was the demise of Stoddard Glassworks.
I'm pretty sure that Keene was able to produce at least aqua colored glass.

No, I haven't, but if you go to this link and scroll to flask #7 you'll see that Keene did produce glass other than olive/amber in color.

Heck, if you check out the link you'll see alot of nice bottles at Norman Hecklers auction site.

This bottle could also be an Essence bottle, the basket weave does not look like it belongs on a Purfume bottle.
Thanks

Chris
