Hello to all you bottle enthusiast, I noted that some have indicated that this subject should have been in this category of discussion. So, I decided to post this relative reminder to all of you that have been in the thread.
I wanted to point out that the one black glass SARATOGA with the ghost of the chiseled in lettering between the S and the P - also has a portion of half-leaf up under the applied and tooled finish. I don't think that was a flap of glass. It was just the way they repaired a broken out side of the neck.
I hope we can find out some more information this summer, I intend to keep digging in to the sources of history regarding this phenomena.
