Just to let you know that some of us still can vegetables and fruit.
Alot of work but well worth the effort.

Hi Woody, I'm glad to see you canning with those "collectible" jars too! (I noticed the Mason "star" jar in the front.) Maybe if we break enough of those in the canner, they'll be worth something! This past year, I used up a bunch of "Magic Button" lids too.... -Tammy

Hi Tammy,
Alot of jars are given to me from people who don't use them anymore.
I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I have literally hundreds of canning jars that I use to can fruits and veggies.
My wife and I make picalli, zucchini pickles, pickled beets, carrots, green beans, grape jelly, apple butter, apple jelly, blackberry jam, crabapple jelly, strawberry jam, applesauce, etc.......
I give alot of it away for Christmas presents to my neighbors, who never refuse it.[;)]
Nothing like the taste of something you prepared from the garden.[:)]

Oh, and Redbook # 1773 is attributed to me and the jar I found here in central New Hampshire.
Midget pint.[;)]

I actually had a nice write up in Antique Bottle and Glass magazine, about the bottle I found, from the late Vivian Kath.
