Hello all,

Was wondering which is the older and / or more desirable (collectible) of the scroll pontils?

Iron / Open / and or Quart ? ?

Thanks I have been wondering for awhile. Much appreciated.

Rarer molds are more collectible and there are a bunch of them.. The Rough & Ready variant as well as the corset waisted varieties come to mind right away.. As far as the pontil, open pontils were used on bottles before the iron pontil ,although the iron pontil rod was widely used at the time most scrolls were being blown so I don't think the pontil type can be used as a dating tool..As far as size, if all are aqua and in common molds I'd take a half pint, then qt., with the pints being much more common than the other two sizes..
