Iron...Military, Farming Equip?

Hey,
I peeked into an old house, and saw these in a tool box, as shown. I didn't take any, but am curious. Any ideas?

They are sash weights for double hung windows.

I have seen these when tearing out old windows and remodeling old houses.

That's what they are all right! I removed about 50 of them when I started rebuilding my 1837 New Englander. They make good fill![
