IT WAS SAD TO SEE BABIES LOOKING LIKE THEY WERE DYING IN THEIR MOMA'S ARMS JUST FROM LACK OF CLEAN WATER TO DRINK. SEEMS IF NOTHING ELSE CLEAN WATER COULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO THEM FROM THE AIR. YES I REMEMBER PEOPLE DYING IN FRANCE'S HEAT WAVE AND WONDERED WHY ABOUT THAT ALSO. SAD. I WAS IN NEW ORLEANS IN 1978 VISITING A COUSIN. HE KNEW A GUY THAT HAD A GOOD MANY BOTTLES . HE TOOK ME AND ANOTHER COUSIN THAT ALSO COLLECTED BOTTLES TO THE MAN'S HOUSE. THE PERSON SHOWED US THE BOTTLES HE HAD . THEY WERE ALL NEW OLEAN HUTCHES AND WANTED A DOLLAR EACH FOR THEM! MOST WERE NEAR MINT OR MINT AS HE FOUND THEM UNDER SOME BUILDING HE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH. WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY WE BOUGHT ALL OF THEM AND DEVIDED THEM EVENLY TWEEN ME AND MY BOTTLE COLLECTING COUSIN. DON'T REMEMBER HOW MANY THEY WERE OR A LOT ABOUT THEM. REMEMBER ONE HAD ROYALE[?] STREET EMBOSSED ON IT. I WAS INTO PATENT MEDS AT THE TIME AND GOT RID OF THEM PRETTY FAST ,TO GET ME SOME MED. BOTTLES. DON'T REMEMBER WHAT I GOT FOR THEM,BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT WAS ALOT. LOVED GOING TO THE FLEA MARKET NOT FAR FROM BOURBON STREET AND ATE MY FIRST RED BEANS AND RICE. MAN I LOVED THAT CITY! I visited New Orleans in 1973 and 1976. I love the French Quarter even though it's been decades since I've been there. We walked all over the French Quarter down the back alleys, into the surrounding neighborhoods. Good memories.

JASON YOU GOING DOWN THE BACK ALLEYS MAKES YOU BRAVER THEN I WAS WHEN I WAS THERE! COURSE I HAD NEVER BEEN OUT OF THIS LITTLE TOWN MUCH THOUGH AND ADMIT I WAS INTIMIDATED. ONE GUY POINTED AT ME WALKING DOWN BOURBON STREET AND SAID "HEY HE IS AFRAID"! [:D] COURSE AT THE TIME NEW ORLEANS WAS 1ST OR AT LEAST ONE OF THE TOP THREE MURDER CITIES OF THE U.S.! I LOVED THE PLACE THOUGH! WISH I KNEW WHAT THOSE HUTCHES WOULD BE WORTH NOW. THAT IS A NICE SOUTHERN APOTHECARY BOTTLE, TWIN! JAMIE

It could have been managed better. The feds can't just come busting in unless the state (Govner Crybaby) and she didn't call because Mayor Idiot didn't keep her posted as to the needs of the people. Everybody was too busy blaiming the fed and Bush and missed the fact that people as far as Mobile AL were serously affected. National Guard rescuers were being threatened with arest and court marshal for helping people who were not in large groups on the teli.

I haven't been able to dig inside the city limits of Pensacola since. After all it was my fault being white and all that. Not joking, was told three times by different folk that it was my fault.[8|]

Thank you Jamie[:)] I have spent many night's and days in Nawlens as they call it. I agree with you all the way on sticking to the main attraction areas such as Boubon St. and the Quarter. Many tourist do not realize how dangerous it can be there even in the day time.
I sure wish I could get some hutches for a dollar each. Hutches, especially along the coast are some of my favorite's to collect.

Yes we do have some delicious blue crabs. Went crabbing just the other day. Thanks to all for your comment's, and may you never have to suffer a disaster of any kind. It really sucks for a long time. Hope everyone has a great dig next time out. Thank you, Marvin

Hey Warren,
I must say that you don't realize how many good people there are in this world until you go through a disaster. Of course we had contractors taking advatage of people and running off with the money for unfinished work. But the out pouring of good descent people over shadowed the scum's of the earth. I thank every voluteer that helped our area with all my heart. I didn't require help and took care of my own. After all, I had to start checking out turn over tree root systems for bottle's man[:D][:D][:D] LOL
One block north of the Hard Rock Casino behind McDonalds. Thats all you need to know dude[:D] You better hurry!!! Marvin

This is a nice one I dug two days ago. It reads: B TUMA APOTHECARY & CHEMIST NEW ORLEANS. Nicely embossed with a banner and a big B in a T.
Thanks for looking, Marvin

Greetings from New Orleans. My great great grandfather was Bruno Tuma. I know there was another member of this group who stated the same relation and I am trying to contact that person because we’re obviously related. Anyhow, I am in search of a bottle like yours to put with some other pharmacy memorabilia that I have that belonged to Mr. Tuma. Do you still have this bottle and would you be willing to sell it?
Thanks
Nicole
