Help.....I got this Holy Water today. Can anyone help me date the bottle? I remember a post with a bottle with a painted on date of 1600 and something that this reminded me of. Does anyone know where it is or who wrote it?

Thanks Charlie. I sent Sewellbottleman a PM to see if he had any info. I do know that the IHS on the front is Roman Catholic and is a monogram for the name Jesus Christ used since the 8th century. Im very exited to see what I can learn about it.

..one bit of trivial input I can offer is that I think it was painted by a leftie..

The white curlies on the sides give it away.. they are all facing the same way, and the direction of them would have been preferred by a south paw.. unless the image is reversed due to photographic reasons, then the opposite would be the case..[8|] (wish they had an emoticon for art geek!)

I agree - being a leftie. It just flows naturally that way on the sides.
