not even close to a hutch type

My brother and I dug a Ford's Pop from Eastliverpool Ohio a couple of weeks ago and I saw it listed in the Ohio Book as a Hutch Type and on the Sopa Bottle Website as a Hutch but the one we dug clearly is not a hutch of any type. It is also listed with different wording on the slugplate. It's listed as "FORD / POP / E.LIVERPOOL, O." The one we dug is embossed " FORD'S POP / EASTLIVERPOOL, O." There has to be some significance to the discrepancies. I will get a photo up asap. The other differences would be an applied blob top and the remnants of the wire lightning style closure.

There were a lot of blobs that could use the hutch wire. There is one company from Pensacola, Fl. (Jacob Lipps) that used several different blobs with hutch wires.

Zane, I'd imagine the it's the same bottle, and they made the mistake in the book.Maybe they got their listing from someone trying to sell theirs and trying to pass it off as a hutch, which would make it more desirable being colored hutchs are more rare than blobs. I've seen the same one as yours at a show but don't know a thing about it.. When listing it as "hutch type" they were referring to the general shape being it has higher shoulders than most squats. The neck, as a result of tooling is a bit longer on yours which makes it look more like a squat.You are right in that it would not have taken a hutchinson stopper. Great bottle, is it marked EHE on the heel?.

So that last photo are the same bottles in the previous two? That is really cool. Can you tell me a little about how you "dig" these up? How do you know where to go and dig?
