Hi, I need a favor. I received a lot of 8 bottles with a broken ink bottle included in the mail months ago and am just getting around to filing a claim with the post office. I had ordered the Covill's Book on inks and the person didn't come through. So paypal refunded me and I need the price of French's barrel ink with Pat. March 1, 1870 on the side, Tooled Collar, Smooth Base, 2 1/16 In. Kovel's has it at $50.00 in 1997. Included is a pic of what it looks like.
Thanks.

Hi Rick, GP and all...... Hmmmm a today's fair market price ? 25-35 clams. Nice ink but fairly common. Ink's volume #4 by J. Odell has a similar labeled example for 100 dollars but it is the 1865 patent example that French, bought up from Pierce before improving the bottle with a flat base. Taz
