I dug this up on the site of a old old Tavern located in Baltimore. It was in pretty poor shape I was wondering if it's common or not. One panel has Dr. S B HARTMAN & CO. the other panel says MISHLER'S HERB BITTER it runs out of room at the bottom so there is no S at the end of bitter. Any info much appreiciated.

I searched a bit on this bottle.. looks like "common" is NOT the right word for it.. ..clean ones seem to be sellable at $75

Acutally Mishler's herb bitters are pretty common. They are mostly found in the tristate area, outside the tristate area, they might be very hard to find but there are a lot of them out there. Your dark ambers are the most common with little value, but the more odd colors are more disirable and worth upwards in the hundreds of dollars

Thanks again for the info nice to know about my bottles. I ordered a couple of the recommended bottle books recently so maybe I won't have so many questions in the future but I'll be reading everything I can on the forum.

I believe you have an older varient as the S in bitters is on the raised part of the outline. If your bottle has an applied top, it could fetch you close to 75.00 like cyber said.Uncleaned, the way it is,I think its worth 30-50 dollars.Much less common than Hostetters.Nice bottle.[;)]
