I'm looking for serious advice, here.. have this nicely embossed blob, found it as a kid, around 1977, in a thicket of trees right behind Marine Park in Red Bank.. have never even washed it .. the stopper iron is corroded beyond repair, but it's still sealed shut... should I get rid of the metal and see how she cleans up as a bottle, or just kind of wash around the rusty wire?

Now, let's see. You found it as a kid in 1977 and it has stayed in that condition since then. Why would you want to do something to it now? I say leave it alone and enjoy it just the way you have for all of these 32 years.

I know what you mean, and that's why I am asking.. the problem is that the rest of my collection is getting cleaner and sparklier, as I acquire new.. acquisitions.. and retire the messed-up ones to a cardboard purgatory... this bottle is now my dirtiest on display, and it stands out.. need guidance..
