Of all the places to have a VERY successful dig! I'm betting there's not too many digs left there in Antarctica.[:D] Very cool, no pun intended. Thanks.

Actually, there are many surface finds of meteorites, and quite a few fossils including dinos have been recovered there...

And, cold-tolerant fungi have been discovered on wooden remains of abandoned buildings...
