Anyone seen or heard of this early bird New York Colonge bottle? we dug it out of a well that dates 1790-1820's its lead glass can't find it listed anywhere, its embossed Nirfnits/ 28 j st / n. york
not 100% sure on the name as its weak.

Jim its clear glass that has turned black from being buried, it could be flint glass, I like it the way it is and don't intend on cleaning it, the bottle has an open pontil, I had trouble getting the pic posting, kept saying file too large, I cropped it down and still had problems and the pic was taken with a low pixel camera, any help on posting pics?

The embossing is actually N PRENTISS 28 JNO ST N YORK , its hard to read on those bottles. You can find it under the P section of my online medicine guide.

Prentiss was listed at 28 John St from the late 1820s to around 1834 when he apparently sold out. He made a large variety of soaps , perfumes, and hair products.

Its a rare item, nice find. I dont have a good photo of one, I would certainly appreciate it if you could send me one or allow me to use the one you posted.
