We looked at a couple of these square, half post bottles a while ago on here. I can't for the life of me find the posts now. However, Jeff over at American Bottle Auctions has one in his auction #50, lot number 255. I'll try to post the pic of it. It's the same form as the ones that were generally decided on here to be repros, but in a darker metal.

I figured I'd post this so we could discuss whether this one, like the others is probably not old. Opinions? There are more pics on the auction site. I didn't want to download too many, figured if you want to see more details, go look.

It looks modern, American Glass Auctions has a habit of offering reproductions as real. He appears very well versed on Western glass however.

You guys won't have to fight me for it, I'm saving my money for the irradiated coffin flask with the etched label in the same auction.

I saw that one too(the bent neck cutters), and kind of scratched my head. I can't imagine it selling, but who knows?

He had one in his last sale too. I was the high bidder, thinking it was old based on his description. After I got it in the mail I found the discussion on here about it and the others like it. I called him and he took it back, and refunded my shipping both ways as well. I think for stuff like sodas and bitters, his auction is as good as the rest.
