Alright Mike I have been holding out on you. I recently picked up this vase and I gotta tell you I purchased it and found out afterwards that it has a little New Hampshire back ground.I got the vase from ebay user Glezmen. His name is Mike also and he has some great glass available from time to time.He listed this piece as South jersey and it looked that way in his listing. However once the bottle arrived I was startled to see that the color was not South Jersey but one I had never seen or even remotley had in my collection.I later discovered the vase was sold and described as an apothcary jar in a Delmarva auction last year. The previous owner was a gentlemen from New Hampshire and he said the vase was from the oldest Keene glassworks. When I checked other attributed glass to those works including your posts here at the forum the color was a dead match with some of the glass. This jar or vase has an incredible cone shaped tall pontil and I cant tell if it is one piece or two in make. The top has the colonial type folded lip and there are plenty of small potstones and dirt in the glass telling me it was an end of day product again.Tell me what you think Mike.

I'm still thinking about it Steve. An apothecary... is the inside of the mouth ground for a stopper? I am still trying to figure the form...
I won't leave you hanging.

Thank you for sharing so many pictures with us, as well as your knowledge of the glasshouses.

Mike it is smooth as as can be.I am wondering if it had some sort of decorative lid as lips were folded over in colonial days among other things to add strength and integrity to the top of the glass. It would look nice with a German looking Kaiser anntena attached to and rising above a loose fitting lid.
What is your thought on the color.
