I have posted this bottle here at the forum before just not by itself, and not on a beautiful sunny day.
John Frederick Amelung's New Bremen glassmanufactory made more glass then people realize.His glass works were only around for a short 10 years but he produced an enormous amount of glass.One of the glass workers favorite colors to use was bright purple or amethyst.This color glass is always a clue when attributing piece's to specific glass works.This bottle is just a little to large to be called a pocket flask standing 7 and a half inches tall and 5 inches wide at it's widest point.The bottle has a nice sheared neck,deep rough pontil,and plenty of base wear.Even on a bright sunny day light has trouble passing through this bottle.
